Voltaire
Pensees Vegetariennes
Vegetarianism is a belated interest for Voltaire. Since 1762, he deals with this subject regularly in his different works. Vegetarianism is the most fundamental human doctrine for him and an admirable law that prohibits eating animals similar to us.
His real name is François-Marie Arouet. Even though he has earned the respect of the whole world, it cannot be said that he has been read much, except for his major works. It prioritizes reason, not belief, and adopts a libertarian attitude. He is a complete enlightenment thinker. He was imprisoned twice for his political and religious views and lived in exile for many years.
